Welcome to the Chicago Pollution Patrol About Page! Did you know? Chicago has the highest lead rates in the country and unfortuantely many Chicagoans lack the knowledge needed to deminish pollution. We are the Chicago Pollution Patrol and we are here to stop that. It is time to reduce pollution!

Who are we?

The founders of the Chicago Pollution Patrol started this force in the summer of 2016. The core founders are Veronica Dorantes, Madolyn Foley, Elizabeth Puntillo, and Nia Robinson. This force was founded under our mission which can be found on our homepage.

Our main sponsor is Brave Initiatives, a Chicago camp where girls are taught how to code and use this to make websites about social change. Our main auidence is Chicago residents, particualry young adults who want to make social impacts! Welcome to our team!

What is this site?

Throughout this website you will uncover an abudance of helpful research all collected by the CPP, the Chicago Pollution Patrol, and our partners.

At the Chicago Pollution Patrol we believe that everyone should be part of the solution, not add to the pollution! We hope you enjoy this website that was made to inform young adults about solutions to pollution in Chicago. Let's start to help reduce pollution before it's too late! Let's go Chicago!

Fun Facts:

Chicago River is one of the most threatened waterways in the U.S.

Pollution is one of the biggest global killers, affecting over 100 million people. That's comparable to global diseases like malaria and HIV.

People who live in places with high levels of air pollution have a 20% higher risk of death from lung cancer than those who live in less-polluted areas.
